The bulldog is known for its acts of heroism and bravery toward its master. It has strong protective instincts, and needs a firm, confident, consistent pack leader. Socialize and obedience train American Bulldogs at an early age, to prevent them from fear and aggression towards strangers. It may be aggressive with other dogs without a strong pack leader who tells the dog what is expected of it. This breed does drool and slobber a lot so be sure you’re OK with that! Without enough daily mental and physical exercise they may become hard to manage.
